John H. Blish, a founding partner of Blish & Cavanagh, LLP, died after a long illness on February 11, 2007.
John was a brilliant lawyer who for 33 years specialized in civil trial work.
A 1959 graduate of Brown University, John received his law degree from University of Michigan Law School in 1965, where he was editor of the Law Review.
He practiced at Edwards & Angell in Providence from 1965 to 1986, and in 1986, he, Joe Cavanagh, Jr. and William R. Landry founded our firm.
John retired in 1998 due to illness.
He is greatly missed but will never be forgotten by those of us who had the privilege of working with him.
He loved the law and took great delight in helping clients through his expertise and advocacy.
Every day the lawyers at Blish & Cavanagh try to emulate the legacy of honest advocacy and good-natured civility which John Blish exemplified throughout his distinguished professional career.
