Lynne Barry Dolan joined the firm in 2009 as a litigation associate. She brings a wealth of experience from a long and distinguished career first in certified public accounting in a “Big-8” accounting firm, and then in corporate law and commercial litigation in two of the largest law firms in Rhode Island.
As a result, she works on an array of business litigation issues, including breaches of contract, breaches of fiduciary duty, shareholder disputes, business valuation disputes, employment litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants, and accounting malpractice defense.
Ms. Dolan's first professional position was as a Certified Public Accountant for Peat, Marwick & Mitchell (the predecessor of KPMG) in Washington D.C., where she worked for three years in their auditing and tax departments.
She practiced in Providence as a corporate attorney for the two largest law firms in Providence, first at Hinckley, Allen & Snyder, LLP, and then at Edwards & Angell, LLP, concentrating in tax, securities law, executive compensation, employee benefits and
ERISA. She later parlayed that experience to establish her own firm, where she worked for the next nine years.
In 2007, Ms. Dolan joined the firm of Ratcliffe, Burke, Harten & Elias, LLP in Providence, where she gained litigation experience.
In 2009, she joined Blish & Cavanagh, LLP, where she is able to combine her tax, corporate, and litigation experience in a challenging business litigation environment.
She is a member of the Rhode Island and Massachusetts Bar Associations.
Ms. Dolan earned a B.S. from the University of Virginia in 1981, and was awarded her J.D.
cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1987. She has served on the Board of Directors of Bradley Hospital, a Lifespan affiliate, since 1999.
