Mary Cavanagh Dunn joined the firm in 2003 as a litigation associate.
She practices general civil litigation in both state and federal courts, handling cases involving business and commercial law, products liability law, employment law, constitutional law, personal injury law and municipal law.
She has also served as a prosecutor for the Town of Smithfield. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced insurance defense law in Massachusetts.
She is a past President of the Rhode Island Women's Bar
Association and was a member of the planning committee for the 2008
District Court Conference for the United States District Court for the
District of Rhode Island. In 2010, she was recognized by Rhode
Island Super Lawyers as one of the state's outstanding young Lawyers (a
"Rising Star").
She is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association and American Bar Association and she is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Ms. Dunn is the author of “Interpreting Rule 60B(6) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure: Relief From Judgments for ‘Any Other Reason’” 7 Suffolk J. Trial App. Advoc. 127 (2002).
During law school she was a staff member of the Moot Court Honor Board, Production Editor for the Suffolk Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy, and recipient of Jurisprudence Awards in Criminal Law and Corporations.
She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the College of the Holy Cross in 1996 and received her J.D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School in 2002.
