Biography

Matthew J. Landry has been an associate with Blish & Cavanagh, LLP since 2013. He practices civil litigation with a focus on real estate development and land-use matters. Before joining the firm, he was a summer law clerk for Plunkett Cooney, P.C. in Michigan, assisting attorneys in construction, consumer protection and insurance defense cases.

Mr. Landry has extensive experience representing real estate developers and property owners in connection with residential and commercial land development projects. His practice involves regular appearances before municipal planning and zoning boards throughout the state as well as State permitting agencies such as the Coastal Resources Management Council and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management.

His practice also includes condominium law. Mr. Landry has assisted clients in all aspects of condominium creation including preparation of Offering Statements, Declarations and Association bylaws.

Mr. Landry has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for his work in Land Use and Zoning Law and by Best Lawyers "Ones to Watch" for his work in Real Estate Law and Real Estate Litigation.

Mr. Landry earned his Bachelor's Degree from Johnson & Wales University in 2005. He was awarded his J.D. from Western Michigan University in 2012. In law school, he served on the Assistant Board of Editors of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review.

Mr. Landry is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and serves as a member of the Rhode Island Bar Journal Editorial Board and the Rhode Island Bar Association Superior Court Bench/Bar Committee. He has also served as Assistant Solicitor to planning and zoning boards in Rhode Island municipalities.
